Welcome

The Parents & Science initiative, launched by The Rockefeller University in 2007, is a unique resource for New York area parents who are interested in learning more about how scientific research is transforming our understanding of childhood health and behavior. P&S strives to build bridges between The Rockefeller University and local schools and parents, promoting scientific literacy and education at all levels. The Parents & Science Discovery Fund provides vital resources to Rockefeller investigators exploring human development and childhood diseases. This fund also supports the P&S lecture series and year-round, hands-on science education programs for students and educators in the New York area.

What We Do

Each year, Parents & Science sponsors a complimentary lecture series that showcases important science related to child and adolescent health and development. These multidisciplinary programs bring Rockefeller's distinguished scientists together with eminent psychologists, social scientists, clinicians, and medical practitioners. Check out our upcoming events.

Parents & Science also partners with the University’s Science Outreach Program to host the annual Science Saturday festival for children and families each May, opening the campus to the community for a fun-filled day of hands-on experiments, fascinating talks, and interactive demonstrations with Rockefeller scientists. This event is designed to engage the youngest generation in the exciting world of science and to inspire a lifelong interest in scientific research and discovery.
